Quarantine Diaries Spain X - I'm home
By Daniel Parada Martinez

Week X - From May 11th
Yes, he is at home. At last my father has arrived, of course, we have had to suffer even for this process. Although his recovery has been incredibly miraculous, he was previously discharged on Wednesday the 13th, but an inconvenience with his ulcer made him unable to leave that day and we had to wait for the 14th, just when we put an end to the project, for him to come home to.
As if the script of a tragicomedy was about my father coming home. He is not perfect, his recovery process is still here, he still does not walk with complete autonomy, he has a cough at times and he has to take several medicines. But something that a few weeks ago seemed impossible like talking to him, listening to him laugh, eating together, we were able to do it again.
I returned to Barcelona on 15 March, two months later we were finally able to sit at the same table my mother, my father and I and we ate together. The situation outside the 4 walls of our house is still chaotic, Barcelona adds another week without leaving phase 0, but at least we are united, because that is the important thing, many battles can be lost, but the important thing is to win the war.
My mother and father are the reflection in which to look at themselves and the more proud I cannot feel of them, they are fighters, with character, of those who keep silent and continue to work rather than lament. It has been 47 days without seeing my father, in them he has been on the tightrope more than once, but still he has continued forward, my mother still, I have not seen a single moment of weakness in her. What happiness it gives to be able to stop writing this story feeling so proud and happy of them.
P.S.: To all the professionals who took care of my father in the hospital the words, lives and moments of gratitude will always seem insufficient. They really are heroes.
